The Workshop will be focused on entrepreneurship skills, project management and science communication.
TSWII adresses ESRs from the REAL-NET projects and other sisters projects FONTE, MOCCA and WON.

2nd year REAL-NET workshop
The 2nd year REAL-NET technical workshop took place on 5h November 2020 via online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the second out of three annual workshop of REAL-NET. The workshops will review progress in WPs and strategies for the next 10 months of research activity. All the ESRs gave technical presentation about their work.

REAL-NET Mini-Symposium on “numerical implementation of Bayesian filtering for signal equalisation and demodulation”.
28th October 2020 virtually and online (due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
The mini-symposium is co-organised together with another H2020 ITN-EID: FONTE.
The aim of this mini-symposium is to facilitate all ESRs high-level discussions on research challenges of Bayesian filtering implemented in telecoms applications.

The mini-symposia is co-organised together with other H2020 ITN: FONTE, MOCCA and WON.
The aim of this mini-symposia is to facilitate all ESRs high-level discussions on research challenges on machine learning in optical communications.

REAL-NET Workshop and Outreach events
REAL-NET together with the ITNs ONFIRE and WON has organised an online workshop/summer school and outreach events on May 18 -21, 2020. Both events have been completely virtual and online. The jointly event has been co-located with IEEE 24th International Conference on Optical Networks Design and Modelling (ONDM 2020).

The Workshop was focus on academic writing, open access/research integrity and social/media engagement, key communication skills, how to create the perfect presentation, networking and team working.
TSW adressed ESRs from the REAL-NET projects and other sisters projects FONTE, MOCCA and WON.
The main Speakers were: Annmarie Hanlon, Stephen Harris, Rachel Won, Hannah Hickman, Srikanth Sugavanam and Richard Fallon.

1st year REAL-NET workshop
The 1st year REAL-NET and WON technical workshop took place on 26th February 2020 at Aston University Birmingham, UK.
This was the first out of three annual workshop of REAL-NET. The workshops will review progress in WPs and strategies for the next 10 months of research activity. Apart from invited external experts, the technical presentations will be given by the REAL-NET ESRs.

Mid-term check meeting
REAL-NET mid-term check meeting with our Project Officer has been carried out on Thursday 13th February 2020 in Brussels.
REAL-NET Induction
The REAL-NET Induction Training has taken place on 18-19 Nov 2019 at Infinera premises in Munich. This is the first training event out of 14 planned and foreseen network-wide training events in the REAL-NET action. The aim of the training is to get ESRs up to speed with technology and the overall aim of the project. Presentations by the industry partners are specially highlighted
Some of the Work Package leaders and one of REAL-NET industrial Partner, INFINERA, have made presentation and lead on interactive discussions regarding state-of-the art research techniques and objectives of each ESR research project.





REAL-NET management meeting
REAL-NET management meeting was carried out on Tuesday 24 of September, during the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC2019) in Dublin.

REAL-NET kick-off meeting
REAL-NET had its first network-wide gathering during the kick-off meeting at Infinera (29th January 2019, Munich, Germany).
We are looking forward to recruit our Early Stage Researches (ESRs), 6 position in total.
